New Spring Wine Releases
All of these new spring releases represent the best of our "small lot" wines. Quantities are limited so please don't wait to order.
*New* 2008 Un-Oaked Pinot Gris: A first for Hillside Estate, this 100% stainless steel fermented Pinot Gris shines with fresh fruit. Fragrances of white peach, citrus and melon are backed by a bright core of tree-fruit flavours that lend a mid palate lustre. Finished dry. $18.99 (400 cases produced)
*New* 2007 Viognier: This Viognier has a powerful, rich, and complex aroma of ripe apricots mixed with orange blossoms. A touch of oak makes for a palate that is full and creamy with lemongrass notes. $24.99 (350 cases produced)
2007 Old Vines Gamay Noir: Planted in 1984, our Gamay Noir vines are some of the oldest in the Okanagan Valley. Aged in French oak barrels, this wine is made in a Burgundian-style, resulting in a medium bodied, fruit forward wine. Red cherry, raspberry and cedar notes introduce moderate, well-balanced tannins on the palate. This wine has an elegance that reflects its heritage. $24.99 (330 cases produced)
2007 Pinotage: Pinotage is South Africa's signature variety. Dark cherry and black raspberry aromas open to a palate rich in classic Pinotage notes of woodsmoke, bramble and earthiness with hints of spice. Velvety in texture with a tannin depth that lends a long satisfying finish. This Pinotage has a power that is a fine match for roasts and game meats. $24.99 (490 cases produced)
2008 Gewurztraminer:This wine contains fruit sourced from some of the finest spots for growing white grapes in the valley. This off-dry wine opens with the fragrance of honeysuckle and ruby grapefruit. The palate delivers a tropical melange with hints of spice. A must to serve with Asian and Indian cuisine, it is also a great patio-sipper. $17.99 (1200 cases produced) |
