FINISHES 3rd Vintage
The 2007 Vintage is over and the it was a busy, busy harvest with whites and reds coming at the same time. Kirby, our winemaker was very creative in how to juggle each varietal through crushing, pressing and the fermentation process. In a harvest like this one it's all about using your stainless tanks and open-top-fermentors to their full potential. But Kirby has had lots of experience, he did a count of all the vintages he has done this one in 2007 made number 15...15 years of winemaking and loving everyone of them!

 Punch downs are one of Crystal's favourite things.
There is just nothing so good as the armoas that fill the cellar during the ferment process of the reds. "Punching the caps down into the juice and stirriing all the aromas into the air, well lets just say it makes my mouth water" says Crystal.
Now it is December and everything has been pressed and is tucked away to age, some for over 18 months and others will make their debut this spring.

 We really have had a great year. Opening our tasting room for the first season and meeting our customers face to face was so much fun. We had people from Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, California and even Germany! When we won a Gold medal for our 2006 Pinot Blanc at the Fall Wine Festival it just made for a great bookend to a great season.

 We are a completely hands on winery. From pressure washing tanks, picking up bins of grapes during harvest, updating the website to pouring in the tasting room and at festivals, we do it all. We are in this for the love of wine and we want to share that passion with others.

 Now as we are planning our release dates for the spring, we want to make sure our e-newsletter club get first notice. Our 2006 Reds will be ready and released in March as well as our 2007 Rose and 2007 Pinot Blanc. We only have about 800 total cases so you'll be able to pre-order in the New Year. We'll send out a reminder notice with tasting notes for you so you'll be the first to know.
