Welcome to our 2008 Fall/Winter Newsletter!

It's that time of the year when our thoughts turn to warm fires, time with friends and family and great wine.  From all of us at Hillside, thank you again for your continued patronage as we celebrate being voted the South Okanagan’s best winery for 2008!  Our 25th anniversary celebration continues as we welcome with enthusiasm, some new additions to our team and one of the best vintages we have experienced in years.

Hillside announces a new winemaker!

After five years with Hillside, Kelly Symonds has decided to move on and pursue other opportunities in Vancouver.  As we say good-bye to Kelly, we are elated to welcome Kathy Malone as Hillside's new winemaker. We are extremely excited and proud to have a winemaker of Kathy's stature and experience join the team.  Kathy has over 27 years of experience making wines in Canada; having spent the last 24 years as one of Missions Hills top winemakers.  Kathy attended the University of Victoria in the Chemistry Co-op department and is currently Chair of the BC Wine Grape Council Research and Development Committee.

The enthusiasm and excitement around the winery since her arrival has been contagious.  She has the right combination of skill, experience, vision and instinct to lead Hillside into the next evolution in becoming Canada’s best Boutique Winery.”  Congratulations, Kathy, we know you’ll be warmly welcomed by all.

2008 Vintage

We're extremely pleased with the 2008 vintage.  October's optimal weather allowed for long hang times and enhanced character which we feel will result in particularly flavourful wines of the utmost quality and structure. Watch for release dates on the website under upcoming releases.
