Hillside Estate is celebrating 25 years in the BC Wine Industry!
Spring has sprung! Mother nature may be a little confused about the spring weather, but out here at Hillside operations are just beginning to bloom. It's happened again! Hillside Estate Winery and Bistro has been awarded the prestigious award of Best Winery in the South Okanagan!!! The Wineshop is now open from 10am-6pm everyday. Come in and taste our new releases and say hello to some familiar faces. The giftshop also has new items including locally-made art, pottery, and recycled wine barrel furniture. The Bistro has also started serving up Executive Chef Peter Young's delicious dishes once again. We've revamped the interior design over the winter for a fresh new look this season and expanded our lunch and dinner menus to include some fantastic new starters and entrées. |

New Wine Releases
1) 2007 Riesling
This is a fruit forward wine with distinctive citrus and hints of steely flint. Its dryer style is a classic for the Okanagan and is one of the few wines that pairs well with spicy dishes or sushi. The 2007 Riesling was made to enjoy now, however this wine has an ageing potential of up to 5 years. It will develop wonderful aged characters unique only to Riesling. The price per bottle is $17.99.
2) 2007 Gewürztraminer
This is the ultimate Naramata Bench Gewürztraminer, with fruit sourced from four independent vineyards from the Bench. This slightly off-dry wine has fragrances of rose petal, grapefruit and lychee with spice throughout. The Gewürztraminer is a must to serve with Asian and Indian cuisine. The price per bottle for the 2007 Gewürztraminer is $17.99. Check out the most recent review of this wine: http://www.theliquidrevolution.com/wine |

3) 2007 Muscat Ottonel
Made from 100% Muscat Ottonel grown on our estate, it is the only wine of its kind produced in the Okanagan Valley. This wine is light and refreshing, with citrus, apricot and pear flavours and hints of spiciness. This wine is best enjoyed on a hot summer’s day with fruit and cheese or with sushi. The ultimate picnic wine! The 2007 Muscat Ottonel was made to enjoy now, but it will cellar for a further 2 years. The price per bottle is $19.99. 4) 2007 Rosé
Made of Merlot and Syrah, this wine has aromas of strawberry, cherry and raspberry throughout. A wine that is light and fresh with substance. This wine forms a great pair with rich cheeses and ripe fruit. Like our fine selection of white wines, the 2007 Rosé is made to drink now but will cellar well for a further 2 years. This wine sells for $15.99 per bottle.

5) 2006 Old Vines Gamay Noir
Planted in 1984, our Gamay Noir vines are some of the oldest in the Okanagan Valley. Aged in French oak barrels, this wine is made in a Burgundian-style, resulting in a medium bodied, fruit forward wine. Cherries and white pepper are predominant throughout this wine while the palate contains moderate well-balanced tannins. This wine pairs well with grilled duck or roast pork dishes. The price per bottle is $24.99
6) 2006 Cabernet Franc
The hidden gem of the Okanagan Valley, Cabernet Franc is one of the great Bordeaux varieties. Aged for 14 months in American oak barrels, this wine has powerful but approachable tannins. Rich with complex flavours of red currant, chocolate and aromas of sweet cedar and cigar. The 2006 Cabernet Franc sells for $22.99 per bottle. |

7) 2006 Pinotage
Pinotage is South Africa’s signature variety and one of Bills personal favorites. So much so that he and Kathy had to fly to S. Africa to "research" the wines this past winter. This fruit was sourced from a single family vineyard in Oliver, B.C. Aged in 100% American oak for 9 months, this wine shows classic Pinotage characters of cigar box, bramble and earthy flavours with lots of smoky oak and spice. This wine is a great complement to venison and other game. The 2006 Pinotage is velvety in texture with a tannin depth that will allow this wine to age a further 5 years. The price per bottle is $24.99.
8) 2005 Reserve Merlot
Our premium Merlot was aged in both French and American oak, giving it smooth approachable tannins and a well-balanced finish. This wine shows a predominance of dark cherries, vanilla and milk chocolate throughout. Enjoy this wine with rich meats and hearty pastas. This is a cellar worthy wine that was made to age for 5-7 years. The price per bottle is $29.99. Our 2005 Reserve Merlot received a Bronze Medal at the 2007 Northwest Wine Summit.
