Greetings from the Gang here at Hillside Estate Winery. Just a quick note to let you know what is happening around the winery and what new vintages we are releasing this spring. Production is limited so order soon to avoid disappointment. 

Spring Releases:

2006 Gewürztraminer      Released April 1, 2007
This is the ultimate Naramata Bench Gewürztraminer, with fruit sourced from four independent vineyards within a 3 km radius of our estate. This off-dry wine has a fragrance of rose petal and grapefruit, with hints of spice on the palate. A must to serve with Asian and Indian dishes.  980 cases produced

2006 Muscat Ottonel       Released  June 1, 2007

Made from 100% Muscat Ottonel grapes grown on our estate.  It is the only wine of its kind produced in the Okanagan Valley. This wine is light and refreshing with citrus, apricot and pear flavours with a hint of spiciness. It is best to be enjoyed on a hot  summer’s day with fruit and cheese or with Sushi.  1,100 cases produced

2006 Hidden Valley Rosé      Released April 8, 2007
This Rosé is a blend of Merlot and Syrah sourced from the Naramata Bench. This wine received skin contact for 72 hours before being drained and fermented at cool temperatures. Aromas of cherry and raspberry show throughout this light, fresh wine. Great with rich cheeses and ripe fruit. Last year this wine won gold at the All Canadian Wine Championships and sold out in the wine shop in 18 days.  370 cases produced

  
A Note from the Winemaker
You know you are Canadian when........ your dog chases a moose through your vineyard!  Straight at me too!  Having recovered from that fright, I am now working hard at finishing the Pinot Gris.  After 4 months in Hungarian oak it is finally ready for bottling.  Look for it in June 2007. - Kelly
  

The Barrel Room Bistro

Fine wines paired with outstanding cuisine!  Executive Chef Peter Young has been busy creating some extraordinary new dishes to tantalize your palate. Not to worry,  your old favourites are still on the menu. The Barrel Room Bistro re-opens on April 6 for daily lunches from 11:30 - 3:00 pm.
We are also having our Easter Brunch on April 8^th from 11- 2:00 pm. Make your reservations early so you will not be disappointed.

Wine Shop

As the ground is thawing the hammers are flying.  We have been busy here at Hillside undergoing huge renovations. We now have two tasting bars so there is plenty of room to come and enjoy our new vintages. Our tasting room is open daily from 10 – 5 pm daily starting April 2^nd.

Naramata Bench Spring Release

 
Join us once again at the Roundhouse in Vancouver where all of the wineries on the Naramata Bench pair their best wines with the best of Vancouver and Naramata Restaurants

The Spring Release Event spotlights each winery’s “Best of the Bench” wines. Their singular best red and white wine of the 2007 spring release paired with the hottest Vancouver and Naramata Restaurants including C Restaurant, Le Gavroche, Lumiere, Raincity Grill, Naramata Heritage Inn and our own Barrel Room Bistro.

Several of the wines that are being poured are produced in small quantities, with limited availability and will be presented for the first time at the Spring Release.
